• 1 loaf of cinnamon bread (or French bread) - ripped into 1 inch pieces
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 eggnog
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Here is a great recipe for an easy and delicious (seriously delicious) french toast bake.  You can make it the night before, so its waiting for you to pop it in the oven first thing in the morning.

Generously butter  a casserole dish (9×13) and then add the bread pieces to the casserole dish

In a separate bowl, beat eggs, milk, and vanilla extract together until incorporated.  Pour this mixture over the bread, and press bread down with a spatula to make sure it is all coated.

Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in another bowl and then sprinkle it over the bread/egg dish

Place aluminum foil over the baking dish and refrigerate overnight (or at least five hours)

When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350F.  When oven is ready, place covered dish in for 20 minutes.  Remove foil and place back in oven for an additional 25-30 minutes.

Let cool for 5-10 minutes prior to serving.

Cooks note:  You can easily make this with a non-dairy eggnog as well, or even plain milk.
